Since 2022, the Ministry of Education has commissioned the Foreign Language Center of National Cheng Kung University (NCKU) to establish the National ESP & EMI Professional Development Center, offering a 36-hour blended online EMI PD professional development program. In 2024, the Center also launched the ESP PD professional development program.

In 2025, the Center will offer two sessions of blended online ESP PD courses, focusing on the two major fields of Science and Humanities.
The courses will cover four key themes:

ESP-EMI Collaborative Framework

ESAP Conceptual Framework

ESP Course Design

Effective ESP Teaching Strategies

Additionally, the program will feature practical course planning activities, sharing, and feedback to further enhance ESP instructors’ professional teaching competencies.

We cordially invite teachers who meet the following criteria and are interested in developing ESP teaching skills to apply.

1. Eligibility (Applicants must meet at least one of the following conditions)
(1) Full-time English language instructors at universities and colleges in Taiwan.
(2) EMI instructors who have completed the EMI PD Center courses and obtained a certificate of completion.
Each class will admit approximately 20 participants, with a maximum cap of 25 participants.

(1) Science (S2) and Humanities (H2) fields: From January 6, 2025 (Monday) to February 16, 2025 (Sunday), 23:59.
